Wimbledon Town Centre & Station Accessibility – Consultation begins

Merton Council are working hard to improve accessibility to Wimbledon Station and town centre facilities for pedestrians and cyclists. The fundamental aim is to reduce the potential for road traffic accidents involving these vulnerable road users.

A scheme has been developed, between Merton and Transport for London
(TfL) which we believe can produce benefits in these areas. The scheme has been presented to cabinet and permission granted to take the proposal forward for public consultation. A consultation leaflet is in the process of being distributed to over 9000 households and businesses in the area and an exhibition mounted over the four days of 23rd to 26th of this month at which any interested parties can express their views, although particular weight will be given to local residents and businesses.

The exhibition will be at Wimbledon Station forecourt, between 10am – 7pm, on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th April and at Centre Court Mall on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th April between 10am and 5pm.
