Carnival fun is on its way to Mitcham once more as the Mitcham Carnival takes place on Saturday 14 June.
The event will begin at 12 noon when the Carnival parade leaves Figges Marsh and makes its way through Mitcham Town Centre to the Carnival site on Three Kings’ Piece where the Mayor of Merton, Councillor Maxi Martin will officially open the 2003 carnival.
The theme for this year’s Parade is Transport Through the Ages so there should be some very interesting floats taking part. The Carnival itself will feature a fun fair, stalls, entertainment, music and much, much more.
The Mayor of Merton, Councillor Maxi Martin, said: “This year’s event promises to be excellent fun. There is going to be something for families and every age group. We would really like to see lots of younger people attending our Youth Zone. It was a great success last year and hopefully we can build on that this time around.
“The Mitcham Carnival is all about community spirit and I can’t wait to see everyone there!”
