Nearly 150 people wanting tips to improve an existing business or thinking of setting up in business visited Merton’s Free Business Advice Exhibition at the Restaurant in the Park, Merton College, earlier this month.

The free event was organised by Merton Council and Merton Chamber of Commerce, with support from Business Link for London and the European Social Fund, and brought together under one roof all the agencies and organisations that provide business support, guidance and information covering all aspects of business.

The exhibition was aimed at:
– People thinking of setting up in business
– Newly established businesses
– Small businesses
– Black and ethnic minority businesses
– Voluntary organisations
– Social enterprises
– One man bands
– Partnerships
– Established businesses.

Almost everyone who can help with business information and advice was represented at the exhibition. A series of short seminars on subjects such as Becoming Self Employed, Marketing your business and Raising Finance, ran throughout the day and they were all fully booked.
