Merton Council is encouraging people to have their say about the future of social care as part of the Independent Commission on Adult Social Care.
The Big Conversation on Care is a national engagement survey and voting panel to help answer the question: “When we are old or disabled, or have a serious illness, who should support us and how?”
The council would like anyone who is a carer, has caring responsibilities, receives care, or has views about how care should evolve, to participate.
Councillor Peter McCabe, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care said:
The Casey Commission’s Big Conversation on Care is the biggest review in a generation.
The consultation process has been running for six weeks and the Commission has identified a number of options and proposals.
We would like everyone to make their contribution by voting for their preferences that will help shape the future of social care.”
Everyone has the opportunity to vote on the proposals submitted before 23 September, and all votes will help inform the Independent Commission’s actions on what needs supporting and implementing that will help shape the next generation of adult social care nationally.
