African and Caribbean Rhythms

Black History Month in Merton

The Pollards Hill Community Centre in Mitcham will host a dance-theatre event at 8pm on Saturday 18 October. It will be performed by Elements, an international African and Caribbean Choreographic Collaboration. The show will combine the contemporary moves of Jamaican dance-hall and urban street culture with the vibrant energy of traditional Elements moves.

As part of Black History Month 2003, Merton Council, through the Library and Heritage Service and the Arts Development Team, has been holding a series of events celebrating the culture, achievements and heritage of the Black and Ethnic Minority communities of the UK.

Entrance will be free, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
