Pupils Race To Crack World Record

1,000 pupils from Raynes Park High School are set to smash the Guinness World Record for the largest Egg & Spoon race on Friday 24th October.

The British Egg Information Service, champions of the Lion Quality mark, has organised the race to celebrate ‘Crack an Egg’ month. A record attempt of the classically British Egg & Spoon race was seen as the most fitting and fun way of highlighting that eggs are fast food and good for you.

The race promises to be a truly spectacular event – not to be missed. To ensure the record is broken, more than 700 eggs need to cross the finish line, perched on a tablespoon.

Mayor of Merton, Councillor Maxi Martin, and Roger Casale, MP for Wimbledon will witness the race and confirm the validity of the world record.
