Sleigh bells ring as Merton residents and businesses have donated six large santa sacks full of toys to Merton Domestic Violence Forum to try and bring a smile to those children staying in refuges this Christmas.
Merton Domestic Violence Forum, who organised the collection, delivered the toys to the London Domestic Violence Forum at City Hall today. The London Forum will be delivering the all toys collected from boroughs across London to refuges throughout the capital, including in Merton. There are many children staying in refuges this Christmas who will be very happy to received these lovely toys.
Rathy Alagaratram, chair of Merton’s Domestic Violence Forum, said: “Thank you to all the businesses and residents who kindly donated toys to children, who are having to spend their Christmas day in one of London’s many refuges.
“I hope that these gifts will bring hope and joy in this season of goodwill.”
The forum would like to particularly thank the Early Learning Centre, Mothercare, WH Smiths, Bookcase, Lidl and PC Watkins.
