Full speed ahead to the Adidas London Mini Marathon

Merton’s team is decided following Sunday’s Trials

More than 80 of Merton’s 11 to 17 year-olds took part in trials for the Adidas London Mini Marathon this Sunday, 7 March on Wimbledon Common.

The event was organised by Merton’s Leisure Development team, with Officials provided by Hercules Wimbledon Athletic Club. Merton will enter a team into the main event on 18 April 2004, based on the best times for both boys and girls within specified age categories.

In the 15-17 yrs category, Medena Knespl came first out of the girls with a time of 13 mins 26 secs and Alex Bodin came in with 10mins 48 secs for the boys. Jake Bodin and Charlie Carrington finished in 11 mins 50 secs and 13 mins 20 secs for the boys 13-14yrs and 11-12yrs categories respectively. Serena Brotherton gained first place in the girls 13-14 yrs with a time of 14mins 22secs and for the girls 11-12 yrs Hannah Hobbs made the time of 15mins 12secs.
