Merton Park Primary School is the proud owner of an Activemark Gold award, given in recognition for its commitment to keeping its pupils active and healthy.

The plaque and certificate were awarded by Sport England, the national sports development agency. Sport England is committed to encouraging school children to have active lifestyles by taking part in regular sporting activities at school.

Stuart Roberts, Head teacher at Merton Park Primary School feels the award was well deserved. He said:

“Our sporting curriculum is as inclusive as possible, and there is opportunity for pupils to participate in above-average levels of sporting activity. We have excellent facilities and there are ample out-of-hours activities in which pupils can take part.

“We are really proud to have had our efforts recognised by Sport England. Despite this though, the school is continually striving to improve by setting ourselves challenging targets.”
