Eclectic performances in store from Merton’s young people

May Day will see an evening of performances coming from young people from all the corners of the world, at the Mayor’s Gala Charity Concert at Merton Hall on Kingston Road, Wimbledon from 7.30pm.

The production aims to showcase and celebrate the varied cultures of children in Merton, featuring among others the Destiny All Stars Cheerleaders, Irish singers and dancers, soloist Kerry Tanner, The Thai Dance Group and Urdu Poetry reading. All proceeds of the evening will go to the Mayor’s Charities – Breast Cancer Care and Merton Mencap.

The Mayor of Merton, Councillor Maxi Martin said: “I am extremely enthusiastic about this show, and can’t wait to see the eclectic mix of performances from the talented young people in the borough. I urge everyone to come along to the concert, which promises to be an exciting and eye-opening evening.”
