Merton Neighbourhood & Street Wardens celebrated receiving the first place in an EnCams award, for a clean-up operation that took place on Valentines Day 2003.
The Mayor of Merton Maxi Martin attended the celebrations on Wednesday 12 May at the Pollards Hill Community Centre to present the wardens, Ian Fall, Neighbourhood Wardens Scheme Manager, Pollards Hill residents and partners who participated in the event with the EnCams award for best ‘clean-up operation.’
Councillor Linda Kirby said: “The neighbourhood wardens have led the way in providing a quality service that makes a real difference to residents’ lives in the borough, and deserve every bit of national recognition they receive. I am sure they will continue their hard work and achievements into the summer and help to keep Merton safe & sound.”
