Fosterers needed to take the driving seat

A major recruitment campaign has been launched in a bid to promote foster carer recruitment across the borough of Merton.

The campaign, featured on Mitcham Belle Buses, aims to reflect the foster teams commitment to recruiting new foster carers. Posters will be featured inside and outside buses to target as many individuals as possible making it the largest campaign ever undertaken by the fostering team. The campaign will run from Sept 20 to Oct 18.

Mitcham Belle buses travel around the borough for 18 hours a day, seven days a week, and therefore have the potential to reach as large and varied audience as possible. Through this campaign the fostering team aim to reach 90 per cent of Merton’s population and many outside the boroughs boundaries.

The Fostering and Adoption team are also keen to attract white foster carers to counteract the current shortfall in this area.

Look out for the campaign in Purley, Wallington, Carshalton, Hackbridge, Mitcham, Tooting, Pollards Hill, Earlsfield, Colliers Wood, South Wimbledon, Raynes Park, New Malden, Streatham, Tulse Hill and Herne Hill.
