Merton Housing Services moves to new centralised office.
Merton Housing Services has moved to a new, centralised base at Chapel Orchard in Church Road, Mitcham. This office replaces the district offices at Wimbledon, Mitcham and Morden, although the neighbourhood office at Phipps Bridge will continue to offer a service.
The new centralised office is designed to provide a better service to our residents and houses a new repairs hotline as well as our estate management and neighbourhood management services. The service is expected to reduce management costs and increase the amount we spend on repairs and maintenance.
Our new central office will provide:
· A single number for contact – 0845 304 6090 for all general queries, with additional lines to ensure telephones are answered promptly
· A new Freephone repairs hotline – 0800 404 6090 (followed shortly by e mail and text facilities for reporting when repairs are needed) in order to ensure quicker response times
· Housing staff based together to create specialised teams, better equipped to meet customer needs
Councillor Steve Austin, Cabinet Member for Housing said:
“The move to Chapel Orchard is an integral part of Merton’s Housing Services’ commitment to provide an improved service to our customers. The money saved through this rationalisation will allow us to have a greater focus on the services that our customers actually need, such as repairs and maintenance.”
