Tamil drop-in sessions

Are you making full use of council services? Merton’s translation service (MTS) is urging Tamil-speaking residents to take advantage of their monthly drop-in sessions between 10am and 4pm on the first Tuesday of each month at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, Morden.

MTS will provide a Tamil interpreter to help residents with:
– Asylum applications
– Council tax
– Housing benefits/needs
– School Admissions
– Student Support.

The interpreter will also be able to help individuals fill out forms and talk to representatives from the Inland Revenue. No appointments are needed for the drop-in sessions.

Posters in Tamil advertising the drop-in sessions are being displayed in Merton’s libraries, on council notice boards around the borough and in Merton Link.

Councillor Stephen Alambritis; Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion and Economic Development said: ‘The service provided by the MTS, including the Tamil drop-in sessions, helps us to ensure all residents are provided with access to council services in the formats that they need.”

MTS aims to provide all sectors of the community with equal access to council services. For more information please call 020 8545 3397 or email merton.translation.service@merton.gov.uk
