As Andrew Murray was taking the first and second sets at Centre Court on Saturday 25 June, future stars were brushing up on tennis skills across the road in Wimbledon Park.

Over 250 youngsters enjoyed a fun filled day of tennis activity with qualified coaches supplied by the Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative (WJTI) and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

Professional players including Victor Hanescu, Karol Beck and Ivo Karlovic were also on hand to challenge some of the children and show off their expert skills.

This year’s event was organised by Merton’s Leisure Development Team in support of the London 2012 Olympic Bid and was part of the LTA’s Play Tennis Initiative.
