The Safer Merton website has launched a tag database.
TagTracker is home to pictures of various ‘tags’ (the names graffiti writers use), which have been seen around Merton.
Tagging is a criminal offence and the Council is keen to stamp it out.
The Council and Crimestoppers are offering a £500 reward for anyone who can provide information on the writer of a tag that leads to a successful conviction.
Councillor Linda Kirby, Merton’s Cabinet Member for Environmental Quality said:
“I encourage every one to visit the Safer Merton website to see whether they can track a tag.
“This database is a useful tool in encouraging people to get involved with keeping their neighbourhood safe, clean and green.”
Visit TagTracker at http://www.safermerton.org.uk and follow the instructions to report a tag.
