More to Morden Library

Morden Library is inviting everyone to drop by and see the new facilities after an extensive refurbishment earlier this year. The library is hosting a series of events for residents of all ages next week.

Activities include:

· Monday 3 July: 10 – 11am, 11 – 12 noon IT taster sessions
· Tuesday 4 July: 2 – 3pm, 3 – 4pm IT taster sessions
· Wednesday 5 July: 10.30 -11.30am Welcome Morning – crafts, stories and rhymes for under-5s
· Thursday 6 July: 10.30 – 12 noon Coffee Morning: Fire Brigade talking about fire safety in the home
10 -11am, 11- 12 noon IT taster sessions
· Friday 7 July: 2 – 3pm, 3 – 4pm IT taster sessions
2.15 – 2.45pm Story Time
· Throughout the week: A display on Manga and other Japanese graphic novels

Morden Library reopened on 31 March after closing for essential improvements including £60,000 spent on purchasing 9000 new items of stock.

Councillor Maurice Groves, Merton’s Cabinet Member for Community Services, said:

“This is a great opportunity for residents to come and see that Morden Library offers more than books.

“I encourage everyone to come along to at least one of these activities and discover how accessible your local library really is.”
