Make your mark against crime

In excess of 20 mobile phones and 12 bikes were marked with Ultra Violet pens at the start of July by Merton’s Neighbourhood Wardens.

Robert Avdijian and Andrew Davis, Neighbourhood Wardens’ for Pollards Hill organised the marking day at Pollards Hill Community Centre. Personal information such as postcodes or information unique to the owner was marked on both the mobile phones and bikes.

Councillor David Simpson, cabinet member for Partnerships and Community Safety said:

“The marking day that was held, proves members of Merton’s community are vigilant when it comes to protecting and preserving their personal possessions.

“I would greatly encourage people to follow this example and make life more difficult for the criminals”

Robert Avidjian and Andrew Davis will be holding weekly surgeries in Pollards Hill Community Centre, where you can come along to discuss community safety issues. There will also be an opportunity for people to get their mobile phones and bikes marked. For further information please call 07904 919947 or 07904 010970.
