Love of libraries rising

The results are in from the Public Library User Survey (PLUS) showing a 10% increase in satisfaction of library users.

During one week in October, 2395 adult library users were asked what they thought about the services provided in Merton libraries. In August, the annual residents survey showed an 8% rise in satisfaction, but the new PLUS survey identified a 10% rise in satisfaction to 83%.

One West Barnes library visitor said:
“I have used this library for many years and find it plays a very important role in the Motspur Park Community.”

A Wimbledon Library visitor said:
“The new library is attractive and welcoming, the staff are always helpful and the provision of increased comfortable seating is a boon to people of my age group.”

Councillor Maurice Groves, Cabinet Member for Community Services said:

“We are delighted with this result as staff have worked hard to improve library services, but we are mindful that we can still make further improvements. We shall be looking at the finer details to see what lessons we can learn.”
