The Council sympathises with residents’ frustration that they are unable to influence the installation of telecommunications equipment at this address. However, the installation does not require any sort of approval from Merton Council, so unfortunately the Council is unable to respond to the many comments referred to it about the installation.

The Council is campaigning to bring all telecommunications equipment under planning control, (as it is in Scotland) but this would require national legislation. If you would support this campaign, please write to your Member of Parliament at the House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA. If this campaign were to succeed, then residents would be able to comment on all telecommunications proposals, regardless of the position or size of the equipment.
