King George’s playing fields will receive a much-needed new fence at the end of March.
Friends of King George’s playing fields secured funding from both Viridor Credits Environmental Company and Merton Council.
The original concrete chain post fence will be replaced with a new barrier fence and new railings and gates at the Aragon Road entrance.
The fence will act as a barrier providing protection to the houses that have an alleyway backing on to the playing field.
Cabinet Member for Environment and Traffic Management, Councillor Tariq Ahmad said:
“I am very happy that Viridor Credits Environmental Company were able to provide funding. We are trying to protect the protection of open space and one way of doing this is by improving the fencing surrounding these open spaces.”
