The London Fire Brigade was called at 10.12am on Wednesday 30 May to an incident on Coombe Lane in Wimbledon, SW20, involving a gas cylinder on fire. Fire crews at the scene believe this may be acetylene. A 200-metre hazard zone has been implemented and around 150 people are being evacuated by the fire brigade and police from nearby buildings. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.

An emergency centre has been set up at Raynes Park High School, Bushey Road, SW20.
