Gorringe Park Primary School are delighted after receiving their latest Ofsted results declaring the school to be a ‘satisfactory and improving school, with some good features.’ The school had previously been on special measures since November 2006.
Pupils are making good progress in lessons and teachers are planning well to meet their needs.
Councillor Oonagh Moulton, Cabinet Member for School Standards and Youth Engagement said: ‘Gorringe Park’s improved results are a tribute to the hard work of staff, pupils, parents and carers who now have very good reason to celebrate all the school’s achievements in its centenary year.’
Barbara Abbey, Head teacher of Gorringe Park Primary said: ‘We are very pleased with the Ofsted report. The staff have been loyal and committed. Both staff and children have worked extremely hard. The behaviour and attitude of the children has always been a strength of the school and has been praised at both Ofsted inspections. We would like to thank everyone for their support.’
