Merton Council will be launching a new guide next month to help local firms do business with the council.
The guide will give detailed advice on the procedures firms have to follow in order to sell their goods and services to the council.
Those behind the booklet also hope it will help voluntary sector organisations, ethnic minority enterprises and small or medium sized businesses bid for council contracts and carry out vital services in the community.
Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Corporate Resources, Councillor Samantha George, said: “There are many opportunities for local businesses and voluntary groups to apply for council contracts.
“We always aim to make Merton Council’s activities fitter, faster and more focused, and this guide is designed to make the whole process of bidding for a contract much simpler. We hope it will encourage many more local enterprises, especially small businesses and ethnic minority firms, to work with us and with our residents.”
