Merton Council has apologised to customers attempting to call their offices, as telephone lines across the council’s network went down on Thursday 20th March. The fault appears to relate to the external exchange that handles calls to the council.
Ged Curran, Chief Executive: ‘We are currently experiencing problems with the telephone system. This is preventing the majority of calls from coming into the main switchboard and our ability to transfer those that do, to some parts of the council. The problem is currently being worked on and we hope that it will be resolved shortly. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused during this time.’
