Ring in the New Year with free training at Merton Adult Education service

Mitcham Means Business and Merton Adult Education Training in association with the London Development Agency are offering a range of free taster courses in January.
The initiative is aimed at small business holders or people currently unemployed wishing to retrain, with provision for those with moderate learning difficulties.
The courses include free lunch, travel and childcare and are suitable for all levels.
With two IT courses, beauty therapy, food hygiene, jewellery making and interview techniques, it could be just the thing for those looking for a new job or ways to boost business.
The Adobe InDesign course covers poster or flyer design for advertising and the Adobe Dreamweaver introduction covers web page creation, text and adding links.
Merton Adult Education is also offering an Introduction to beauty therapy course teaching basic manicure and pedicure technique as well as providing advice on qualifications and careers in the beauty industry.
Two courses have also been included for people with moderate learning difficulties, an Introduction to food hygiene, and Interview techniques for job seekers.

The food hygiene course develops an understanding of current hygiene regulations, and how to prevent cross-contamination in the workplace; while the interview techniques course covers preparation, popular questions, body language and coping with nerves.
These courses are held at either Wimbledon library or Merton Adult Education in Whatley Avenue, between 19 and 28 January.
