Add another string to your bow

London Borough of Merton
Merton residents are invited to get a taste for something new this May, as Adult Learners’ Week is back with plenty of exciting courses to try for free.

Merton Adult Education is bringing taster sessions to venues across the borough, allowing all residents to try their hand at something new. From a careers workshop to learning a new language, or even nail art, there is something for everyone.

For those looking for work or a change in career then the CV and interview skills workshop at Marlborough Hall offers help on writing a professional CV, on Monday 17 May at 10am.

Once your CV is covered, why not find out more about a career that interests you? Introductory taster courses are available on health and social care, personnel, and health and safety over at the Whatley Avenue site.

Wimbledon Library is the place to try out your holiday Spanish or have a go at something new, with Chinese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian and sign language taster courses running throughout the week. Sign language and Chinese for beginners are also available at Morden Library and Whatley Avenue.

Head of community education, Yvonne Tomlin said “Adult Learners’ Week is a great way for people to try new activities and gain new skills. Merton Adult Education offers the perfect opportunity in the current economic climate for residents to boost their skills and open up new career opportunities”.
