Culture Diary deadline looming

Local event organisers are being urged to register their events to the Culture Diary before 31st December 2010 or face missing out in being part of the 2012 cultural festivals. Initial registration of activities must be completed by the December deadline, but people now have up until the end of March next year to firm up arrangements for their events. Anyone wishing to register events in the Culture Diary should go to: http://www.theculturediary.com

Merton Council cabinet member for community and culture Councillor Martin Whelton said: “We want the people and businesses of Merton to take as much advantage as possible of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games coming to the capital. We are lucky enough to be have the tennis event happening in our borough and I urge as many people as possible to register their events by the 31 December 2010. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know exactly when it will be or where, you can change all those details. The important thing is to register. You then have up until 31 March 2011 to confirm arrangements for your event. The diary is a great platform to promote local events to the millions of extra people expected to be in the country for London 2012.”
