Merton Council Leader pulls a pint for residents

Merton Council’s Leader Councillor Stephen Alambritis will be out and about the borough next week meeting residents, pulling pints and serving up some delicious dishes.

Councillor Alambritis will be serving pints at the Dog and Fox in Wimbledon Village between 7pm and 8pm on Wednesday 22 December. At lunchtime on the same day he will be plating up fish lunches at Skippers Fish Bar, Mitcham between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

Thursday 23 December Councillor Alambritis will be pulling pints at Ganleys between 1pm and 2pm and serving fish and chip dinners between 7pm and 8pm at Adam’s Fish Bar in Kingston Road, South Wimbledon. He’ll then be moving on to VJ’s curry restaurant in Raynes Park from 8.30pm until 9.30pm.

Councillor Stephen Alambritis said: “Getting out of the office and onto the streets talking to residents is so important for a council. I am passionate about being Leader of Merton and believe that a major part of my job is to serve and meet the people who live and work in the borough. I want to literally serve our residents from some of the many pubs, restaurants and bars we’re lucky to have in Merton. By going into local businesses which are very much part of the local community and vital to sustaining a vibrant local economy, I can get a real feel of what businesses are doing in Merton and what residents and those who are employed in the borough think about the place where they live and work.”
