Local performers and residents who want to be considered to take part in performance slots along the Olympic Torch relay route are being called upon to attend a public meeting on Tuesday 10 July, 7pm – 8.30pm.
The meeting held in the Council Chamber and will give people the chance to hear the plans for the day and discuss performance positions along the route.
Locals are reminded that the Olympic Torch will be coming to Merton on Monday 23 July.
Cabinet member for Community and Culture, Councillor Nick Draper said: “The Olympic Torch coming here is a once in a lifetime opportunity with a huge worldwide audience, so if you run a choir, play in a band, cheerlead, or are a local performer and you want to be involved, come to the meeting! We’ll do our level best to fit you in!’.
