Merton consults on Rainbow Industrial Estate

Merton Council is calling on residents to have their say about the future look of the Rainbow Industrial Estate in Raynes Park.

Landowner, Workspace Group, wants to hear what people think about their ideas for the redevelopment of the site. Residents and business owners have until the 25 July to send their views and comments to the council for consideration.

Chief ideas for the site include making way for new jobs by increasing the available business floor space, reducing lorries and local traffic congestion, providing quality, environmentally-friendly homes and landscaping garden areas and improving the drop-off point at the entrance to Raynes Park station to the benefit of local residents and businesses.

Merton Council cabinet member for environmental sustainability and regeneration Councillor Andrew Judge said:

‘Thoughtful redevelopment of the Rainbow Industrial Estate will make it a real asset for Raynes Park. There is huge potential to create an attractive area which will be good for both residents and local employment opportunities. These are early days, and we want residents and business to be involved right from the start. There will be many more consultation opportunities to come as ideas are developed and local people help shape them.’
