Debra the zebra spreads Merton’s safety message

As part of National Road Safety Week (19-23 November), Debra the zebra visited schools in Merton to give talks on keeping safe on the roads.

Merton’s Road Safety team are providing workshops and presentations in the borough’s schools to reinforce safe crossing messages with all age groups.

Merton’s cabinet member for Children services, Councillor Maxi Martin said: ‘We want to encourage children to walk to school as it’s a great way to keep active and healthy but we also need to do all we can to keep people aware on the roads. Visiting our schools is a good way to reinforce our message to children of taking care when crossing roads.’
