Improve your wellbeing at Merton Libraries

Merton Libraries are helping residents to improve their health this new year with a range of fitness and wellbeing sessions taking place this month.

Pollards Hill Library is hosting the main wellbeing event on Tuesday 21 January at 10.30am – 4.30pm, called ‘Fun, Fit and Fabulous’. This annual event offers library users an opportunity to get advice and information from a range of health, fitness and beauty professionals. Events taking place throughout the day include blood pressure testing, advice on healthy meals and snacks for parents and children and healthy skin information. Pollards Hill Library have also introduced new weekly Pilates classes taking place every Thursday from 4-5pm. Wimbledon and Donald Hope libraries also hold weekly classes focusing on improving the mind, body and health. Wimbledon’s wellbeing drop in class takes place on Saturdays from 10-11.30am and Donald Hope’s takes place on Mondays from 2.30-4pm.

For those looking for a more energetic session, Raynes Park Library will be hosting an Argentine Tango class on Thursday 30 January from 6- 7pm. As part of Raynes Park’s health and wellbeing offering, they will also be holding chiropractic consultations on Thursday 23 and Tuesday 28 January from 9.30am. Mitcham Library is hosting a more relaxed session on health and wellbeing at a coffee morning event on 30 January featuring a talk by Melanie Surty-Garcia called ‘Don’t Age-Age Well’ from 10.30-11.30am where free tea, coffee and biscuits are on offer.
