Get behind the wheel of an electric vehicle for a test drive on Saturday, July 15 in Wimbledon High Street.

A pair of cars will be available as part of Merton Council’s drive to introduce more eco-friendly vehicles. The cars can be picked up and dropped at any compatible Source London bay across London.

A fully charged car can travel up to 150 miles in the city on renewable energy.  Anyone interested can sign up for a year’s free membership of the borough’s new electric car club.

People living or working in Merton can subscribe via blue-city.co.uk and use the code EARLYBIRD10 to redeem a year’s free membership. This costs around £5 a month. You get 10 hours of free driving which is usually 17p per minute with a minimum charge of £3.40.

The council is working in partnership with Bluecity and test drives will be available between 11am-2pm at 44 High St, Wimbledon, SW19 5AX.
