On Friday evening (2 July), one of the council’s partner’s suppliers was subject to a cyber-security attack on one of the systems that supports the council’s website and some online services for residents.
We want to reassure residents that this wasn’t an attack on the council’s own systems or data. However, it has impacted some online services, which are currently unavailable.
These include:
- Waste bookings (bulky, refuse, recycling collections and clinical waste)
- Reporting street scene issues (i.e. fly-tipping)
- Licence applications
- Children’s & leisure courses
- Hall booking
We acted swiftly and have been working with both the National Crime Agency and the National Cyber Security Centre over the weekend to investigate this issue with our partners.
Many of our usual services are still available on our website.
