New Borough of Sport Grant Fund opens for bids

Today the council’s new grant fund, designed to boost Merton’s grassroots and community sport sector, opens.

The Borough of Sport Grant Fund will support clubs, coaches and organisations to upgrade and improve their offer. The funding criteria is broad and allows bidders to focus on what will make an impact for Merton residents: whether that’s new kit, coach training, putting on extra sessions or much more.

Grants of up to £5000 are available from a total pot of £100,000 for this round of funding. There is no lower limit on the amount you can bid for, to encourage smaller organisations to get involved.

Bidding opens today (April 3) and will remain open until mid May. Successful bidders will receive their funds, distributed in partnership with Clarion Futures, at the start of the summer.

An information evening will be held at the Borough of Sport Community Forum on 3 April at 6.30pm, a recording of this session will be made available shortly after the session.
