Out performing bogus callers

Merton Council has commissioned a play to highlight the dangers of doorstep crime for older people in the borough.

The play, Ma Kelly’s Doorstep, has been produced by the Wimbledon-based Attic Theatre Company and will focus on bogus callers. It will be performed free of charge at venues across the borough for older people, carers or anyone who is concerned about their welfare.

The project is a partnership between Merton, the Police and local voluntary groups and will be performed at centres and clubs for older people between 27 November and 11 December.

Anyone who belongs to a Senior Citizens club or attends a day centre should ask the organiser for details. Alternatively, leaflets are on display in Merton Link at the Civic Centre, Morden and in Council Libraries.
