Merton Link has been identified as an innovative and successful One Stop Shop facility, by officers at London Borough of Redbridge.
Members of Redbridge’s Best Value Review Team requested to visit the Merton service to see it first hand and discuss the experiences and best practice with Merton staff.
The Mayor of Merton and Absolutely Fabulous TV Star, June Whitfield, officially opened Merton Council’s innovative Merton Link service on 3 July 2002. Merton Link is a pioneering new service designed to help residents access services from one single point, and it has received extensive praise from customers, staff and other authorities.
London Borough of Redbridge’s Performance Management Manager, Colin Young, said: “As part of the Comparison stage of our Best Value Review, we wanted to visit other providers who have innovative customer access areas. We identified Merton Link as an innovative and successful one-stop facility and are delighted to have the opportunity to visit the service.”
Special Project Manager, Christine Alkach, said: “I am delighted that Redbridge Council chose to visit Merton Link as an example of best practice. Since Merton Link opened last year we have had a lot of compliments from our customers. By having all services in one place it is much easier for residents who previously had to visit each floor separately.”
Merton Link is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
