Merton Council is pleased to announce the recommended appointment of a new Chief Executive, Ged Curran, currently an Executive Director at neighbouring borough Lambeth.
The Appointments Committee, which includes the Leader of the Council Councillor Andrew Judge and Leader of the Opposition Councillor David Williams, has made a recommendation for full Council this Wednesday. Subject to approval, Ged will take up the top job at Merton in three months time.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Andrew Judge said: ‘Following an exhaustive and rigorous recruitment process, the Appointments Committee is recommending that Council approve Ged Curran as the next Chief Executive of the London Borough of Merton.
‘I believe that Ged will be an exceptional Chief Executive, and confident he will provide strong leadership on Merton’s continuing ‘Journey to Excellence’. ‘
Ged Curran said: ‘I look forward to working with Merton’s staff and councillors in helping them deliver excellent services for the people of Merton.’
