Merton’s Mayor, Councillor Judy Saunders, will officially open the new state of the art library in Raynes Park on Wednesday, 12 October.
Publicist Max Clifford, who is an ex resident of Merton has kindly agreed to lend his support to this community event.
The library re-opened to the public on 12, September after undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment programme.
Members and local residents can now enjoy the benefits of a large modern meeting room, plasma screens displaying useful and relevant information, audio visual materials, 10 computers and in excess of 20,000 books.
An open planned design is now in place, which offers quick choice sections, user-friendly header sections and special seating areas for young people and children.
Raynes Park Library is currently being visited by over 750 people a day and they’ve also welcomed the addition of 500 new members since its re-opening.
