Adult Education excellence in GCSEs

Merton Adult Education consistently gets excellent results in Modern Foreign Languages and upheld the tradition this year. The college was well above the national average with 87.9% of students receiving A* – A in GCSEs and 92.3% receiving A – C in AS.

Maria Mavromatis, Modern Foreign Languages Programme Manager said:
‘This is an outstanding achievement for our learners. Our students are adult learners who mostly work during the day and have many other commitments and yet are able to produce excellent results in just one evening per week in only one year.’

Councillor Maurice Groves, Cabinet Member for Community Services said:

“Congratulations to our adult students. These grades are well above the national trend, reflecting their enthusiasm and dedication to learning with support from their tutors.”

The new Adult Education term begins on Monday 25 September 2006.
