On Thursday 21 June the Mayor of Merton, Councillor John Dehaney, joined the girls from Ricards Lodge High School in Wimbledon to take part in their annual Celebration Evening.
The Mayor presented the excited Year 11 students, leaving the school this term, with their Record of Achievement, celebrating all that they have achieved during their time at Ricards Lodge.
The Mayor made a speech to the gathered audience of proud families, teachers and students before the school said a final farewell to the group, who will be sorely missed. This was a special time for the Year 11 students, who represented the first group to have completed five years in a Merton high school since the reorganisation in 2002.
Headteacher, Alison Jerrard, said:
“This year’s Year 11 students were a terrific year group that has set a trend for educational achievement across the school. We are sorry to see them leave but look forward to hearing about their success as young adults moving into the next stage of their education.”
Mayor of Merton, Councillor John Dehaney, said:
“The year 11 students are a wonderful group who have achieved much during their time at Ricards Lodge. I wish them the best of luck in the future and in furthering their education.”
