Council officers and councillors have been working alongside Clarion staff at the rest centre and all evacuated residents have been moved to temporary accommodation.
Roads in the area have now been reopened.

Residents who have been evacuated from their homes are being looked after at a rest centre, which has been opened by the council at Mitcham Parish Centre in Church Road, Mitcham (opposite St Peter & St Paul Church).

The council has opened a rest centre at Mitcham Parish Centre in Church Road, Mitcham (opposite St Peter & St Paul Church) where council officers and councillors are providing support for residents who have had to leave their homes.
Council officers remain at the scene of the fire, working alongside the emergecy services.
Residents in the vicinity are advised to keep their doors and windows closed, as there is a lot of smoke in the air.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
