Throughout the month of September council tenants, leaseholders and freeholders will have the chance to find out more about Merton’s Better Homes housing transfer proposals when a roadshow visits 18 different locations across the borough.
Representatives from both Merton Council and Circle Anglia, the council’s new partner housing association, will be on hand to provide information about the Better Homes transfer process and answer any questions tenants, leaseholders and freeholders may have.
The Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS), independent advisors for the transfer proposal, will also be available to offer independent advice.
Councillor Samantha George, deputy leader of the council says: “This is a great opportunity for tenants and leaseholders to not only learn about the transfer process but also to find out what kind of improvements the new housing organisation would make in their area.”
Tenants, leaseholders and freeholders from all across the borough can also expect to see council representatives out and about in their neighbourhood armed with questionnaires that will help the council better understand the types of improvements residents want to see.
The first roadshow will take place at the Phipps Bridge Estate on Monday 8 September from 9am to 7pm. A list of all other dates and locations is available online at http://www.merton.gov.uk/betterhomes or for more information phone the Better Homes team freephone number on 0800 923 0037.
