Residents can feel confident that the information and advice they receive about family services in Merton are of the highest standard in the country, especially now Merton’s Family Information Service has the Matrix Standard accreditation to prove it.
The Matrix Standard is the national quality standard for any organisation that delivers information, advice and guidance. Merton’s Family Information Service was awarded the Standard this month for offering excellent support and information services to families in Merton.
The service was praised for providing reliable information to families with children with special needs, offering good quality advice on pathways to employment and offering a wide diversity and variety of information and knowledge.
Councillor Debbie Shears, cabinet member for children’s services at Merton said: “We know how important it is to ensure that families have the best support, information and guidance possible to enable them to get on with their day-to-day lives.
“The Family Information Service team does fantastic work in the community to ensure we are putting the needs of local families first and it’s great to see this high level of service recognised against national standards.”
The Merton Family Information Service offers free, confidential advice and information on a wide range of issues from childcare assistance packages to employment development pathways, parenting support, leisure activities, childcare funding and benefits.
