Merton Council Election nominations now closed

Nominations for the London Borough of Merton local elections are now closed.

210 candidate nominations were received by the cut off deadline on Friday 5 April at 12 noon. Candidates have up until Wednesday 10 April 12 noon to withdraw their nominations if they wish. There are 60 ward councillor positions to be filled – three in each of the 20 wards across the borough.

Poll cards will be delivered to all electors from Friday 12 April until Monday 15 April. Some electors will be need to cast their vote at new polling stations. To ensure clarity, each poll card will state the polling station where electors should vote and feature a map showing the polling station location. Polling stations will be open on Thursday 2 May from 8am until 9pm.

Electors who have already arranged to make a postal vote will not be sent a poll card. Postal or proxy vote applications can be cancelled up until Wednesday 17 April.
