Donald Hope library gets new children’s corner

Supported and funded by Sure Start Lavender, on Wednesday 21 January Donald Hope library opened its new children’s corner, with new tables and chairs at child height, a soft seating area and large floor cushions. The new furniture and accessories were suggested as a particular need for the parents and children of the local area as part of the consultation process between the providers and the parents.

With many new books including oversize books and accessories for story time, colourful new storage, interactive books and audio books for the new listening station. The new corner is designed to extend and enhance the existing service provided by the London Borough of Merton Library Services to make it more user friendly.

On the day, Sure Start also funded a craft morning, which was organised and provided by the Pre-School Learning Alliance (PSLA), with story time, craft activities and face painting to celebrate the opening of the new area.
