The 2006 Best Value Performance Indicator (BVPI) survey results have proved Merton is an improving council, and that residents recognise the steadfast progress that is being made.
Merton is one of the comparatively few councils that has seen an increase in their overall satisfaction rating.
Chief Executive of Merton Council, Ged Curran, said:
“The results of the BVPI survey are vital, as they identify how Merton Council has performed over the past three years, and the areas which we need to improve in. They also give a firm steer on how Merton will fare in the upcoming CPA inspection.
“The results are very encouraging, and I am positive that we have a strong platform for even greater success when the surveys are next undertaken in 2009. I would like to thank the residents for participating in the survey, as we are a council that listens to residents, and puts them at the heart of our agenda. I would also like to congratulate the officers and councillors in Merton Council for their hard work.”
Councillor Corinna Edge, cabinet member for Change Management and Performance said:
“The results of the BVPI survey are good, but as a council we must continue to monitor performance, whilst noting the key areas that our residents say need to improve.”
